RiverView Reach

Freelance Animation - 2014

RiverView Church endeavors to extend help & support both inside & outside of the church walls, and this animation is a cartoon-style depiction of various things they have done. It even includes elements like a 3D train that I modeled to portray just how far and wide they have traveled.

The process started with being given a script that consisted of the client's vision for each segment, it was then my job to visually interpret & create a detailed storyboard, along with annotations for communicating the various ideas I had in mind at that point.. The start of the script wasn't finished when I started, so it was required to begin with the second half of the storyboard first, and eventually work on the beginning when it finally got finished.

After this, it was now time for asset creation, so then I researched a lot of reference images & 3D modeled the various objects that were required according to the storyboard & began to compose together the scenes with the objects for each scene / shot...The most challenging aspects of the whole animation were the running coffee jar character & the steam train, due to the fact that 3D character walk cycles can be hard to perfect, & the 4 hours required to achieve the train's level of details.
