Beautiful Display with Hidden Decay
3rd Year, Trimester 2, Creative Thinking
Stirling Civic Gardens is such a beautiful place that's conveniently located near Stirling station and IKEA store. It has plenty of rolling green hills & trees throughout the vicinity, though it hasn't always been this way. It used to be a landfill, and so this sculpture represents the pretty surface & ugly history underneath.
Concept
After having the entrance & elevation decided upon, a lot of options were explored for what should be placed on the top. It's the most prominent portion of the whole sculpture, and so it had to be really good. This ended up having both the people standing around in a circular fashion, as well as the shapes that hold the gold leaf fruit extrusions.
